Arranged around a core of expertise in Acoustics and Vibration, clients demanded Pace Consult's uniquely helpful, timely, commercially attractive and practical approach be applied to other disciplines. Clients now regularly obtain additional services such as air tightness testing, air quality assessments and building thermography to name but a few.

Meet the team

Martin Jones

Managing Director

BSc (Hons) MIOA MASA

Martin is the founder of Pace Consult with a significant depth of experience within the building and architectural acoustics field. He has substantial experience in Building and mechanical services noise control having overseen many truly substantial and complex schemes.

With over 25 years of experience working on complex, large-scale projects for the private and public sector across the UK, MENA and Australasia as well as the Caribbean; his work covers a range of sectors and he has particular experience in commercial, educational, leisure, custodial, medical and large scale residential schemes in the UK and overseas.
He has established a reputation as a skilled and experienced acoustic consultant offering pragmatic solutions. Martin has strong leadership, and communication skills and a genuine interest in his team delivering quality solutions.

Martin is highly experienced in managing both the company and frontline consulting on multiple construction projects simultaneously. He will be the first point of contact for any issues on contractual matters, performance or resources.

He will also provide technical leadership and direction to the acoustic design team.

Joan-Carles Blanco

BSc, MSc, PhD, MIOA | Associate Director

Joan is a qualified acoustic consultant and corporate member of the UK Institute of Acoustics. With over 23 years experience in acoustic and vibration design he has extensive practice working to British and International Standards in a wide range of projects that include building acoustics, mechanical services, vibration and environmental acoustics, working collaboratively with a number of major contractors and global companies. He has delivered a number of scientific papers and presentations in the field of acoustics whilst holding senior academic positions at recognised centres of excellence in research throughout the world.

Joan has proven expertise working on complex, significant projects for the private and public sector across the UK, continental Europe, America and the Middle East, his work covers a wide range of sectors including commercial, educational, leisure, custodial, medical and large scale residential schemes in the UK and overseas. He is a highly reputable and skilled acoustic consultant offering practical solutions.

Peter Young

MSc

Peter joined Pace Consult in April 2017 after completing the Institute of Acoustics Post Graduate Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control. He has since also completed an MSc in Applied Acoustics with the University of Derby.

During his time at Pace Consult, and prior to this Apex Acoustics, Peter has undertaken sound insulation testing and environmental noise surveying for residential, commercial, educational, and leisure developments.

Peter has also been involved in the acoustic design of several residential and educational developments. This has included noise impact assessments, internal acoustic design, and mechanical services noise assessments. Several of these projects have involved the use of acoustics modelling software such as SoundPLAN 8.1 and Odeon (Ver.11).

Cassie Banks

Financial Controller

I have been the financial controller here at Pace Consult for 6 years with over 10 years finance experience. I am fully AAT qualified, and I am responsible for the day-to-day finances of the company. I enjoy working for Pace due to the great teamwork and encouragement from my colleagues, I have great support from everyone and enjoy the benefits of hybrid working thanks to the flexibility the company offers. My priority is to keep the business running smoothly from all aspects of accounting from credit control to management accounts.

Harley Parfitt

(BSc MSc MIAQM) – Air Quality Consultant
Harley is an independent air quality consultant who has over five years’ experience in providing air quality consultancy services for a diverse range of projects, for both private and public sector clients. Harley prides himself on providing bespoke advice that meets his client’s needs and maximises the potential for environmental benefits.

Harley has a particular interest in the interface between the environment and data science and enjoys using advanced analytical techniques such as machine learning to ‘go beyond’ traditional approaches to add value to projects.

In his spare time, Harley enjoys trying to keep fit, and loves no activity more than a competitive game of 7-aside.
